Rent Direct Peterborough are proud sponsors of “Le Tour Free Kicks”, a marathon, money raising bike ride organised by the Free Kicks Foundation. The foundation is based in Peterborough and they support bereaved, ill and disadvantaged children by organising a day to remember at their favourite football club.
Each year the Free Kicks foundation organises this fund raising event, but with a different route. 15 cyclists will be tackling the gruelling route and have been training hard in preparation. The riders hope to raise over £30,000 for the charity.
Make no mistake, the ride will be tough, they will cover 350 miles and climb about 30,000 ft. The ride will take place in May 2015, with a start line in Leeds, Yorkshire. The route has been designed to cover the 2014 Tour de France Stages 1 and 2, as close as possible and will snake its way through Bradford, Huddersfield, Bakewell and Loughborough before heading for the finish line in Peterborough.
Rent Direct are supplying a long wheel base Transit van as the event support vehicle. The van will follow the riders carrying all the support equipment that they may need en-route.
Meet the Riders
If you would like to meet the team and help raise funds, they will be appearing at Queensgate, Peterborough on 14th March.
